MICHAELA ANZINGER

Michaela Anzinger, an employee of VA Intertrading Aktiengesellschaft, is the first Austrian woman to have completed the Gaucho Derby. From February 14 to 27, 2026, she completed the world’s toughest multi-day horse race—the legendary Gaucho Derby. She was the first Austrian woman to be selected from among numerous applicants from around the world.

GAUCHO DERBY

The Gaucho Derby, a 500-kilometer, multi-day, unsupported ultra-endurance race, remains one of the toughest and most unique challenges in equestrian sports worldwide. It takes place in the rugged wilderness of Patagonia, Argentina, and combines horsemanship, navigation, survival skills, and extreme physical endurance into a single, formidable race in which the welfare of horses is top priority.
